Blown off course Mr. Eliot takes a picture of something unusual, a lion caught in a giant web. Landing and returning to investigate with Lady Drew they get caught in the web. Their pilot, not finding them on his return ends up wrecking his plane and getting rescued by the Phantom, who goes in search of the explorers and also gets caught in the webs. Finding that the webs are made by cannibals the Phantom determines to correct their deadly ways and bring them under the Phantom law and peace by taking the place of their idol Oomgah.
