This anthology issue contains multiple stories about Native Americans. "Manzar, the White Indian" and "Longbow, Blackfoot Boy" depict conflicts involving Native American warriors and raids. "Sacajawea, Bird Woman" tells the historical story of a Shoshoni woman born in 1787 who was captured by the Hidatsas, later married a trapper named Charbonneau, and served as a guide for the Lewis and Clark Expedition, becoming "the only woman among those rough, trail-hardened men." The final story concludes with a peace treaty signed at Oswego, New York in 1766, showing Pontiac receiving gifts and vowing to fight for Native American rights against colonial encroachment.
