Incredible Science Fiction #30
In "Clean Start," two amoeba-like aliens from the Solar Federation descend on Earth with a radical mission: wipe out humanity and restart the species from a single couple. Disguised as humans, the pair set out to find their perfect candidates—only for the female to discover her chosen man is her mate in human form, a twist that leaves her stunned and questioning the very purpose of their mission. Written by Jack Oleck and brought to life with sharp, expressive art by Wallace Wood and vibrant colors by Marie Severin, this 1955 EC classic blends sci-fi speculation with a haunting personal revelation. The cover, a striking piece by Jack Davis, captures the eerie, otherworldly tension of the story.

Two amoeba like aliens (one male and one female) are tasked by the Solar Federation with trying to help humanity from destroying itself. They deduce the best thing to do is take one male and one female, destroy every other being on Earth, and start the species all over again. They take human disguises and go about looking for a human. The female finds one, captures him, and takes him back to the ship. Humanity is then wiped out. She is worried that her mate hasn't returned to the ship with his human yet. But to her horror realizes that the man she abducted was her mate in his human form.
