Incredible Hercules #123

Part three of the "Love & War" arc finds the Prince of Power in full fury — and Clayton Henry's cover captures it perfectly, with a snarling, muscle-bound Hercules smashing through a cascade of crumbling stone, gold wristbands gleaming as debris explodes around him in every direction. Writers Greg Pak and Fred Van Lente were delivering some of Marvel's most entertaining mythology-soaked storytelling in 2009, and this issue sits right at the heart of that run. If you like your heroes rough, roaring, and buried in rubble, this one's hard to pass up.
