Immortal Hulk #22

Al Ewing and Joe Bennett's Immortal Hulk continues to be one of Marvel's most atmospheric series, and issue #22 — "Who's There" — delivers a cover that stops you cold. Alex Ross paints a tension-soaked scene inside what appears to be a glass-and-steel corridor, where an enormous, grimly focused Hulk looms behind a dark, winged figure with glowing red eyes and taloned feet, while a third figure with glowing yellow eyes lurks in the shadowy background. The green-tinted dread Ross conjures here feels genuinely unsettling, perfectly matching the horror-inflected tone this series has made its own.
