Prince Ibis, the Master of Magic, accidentally misuses the powers of his mighty Ibistick to banish Death itself from the world, which inadvertently creates chaos as Death becomes a disguised threat in the mortal realm. While Ibis and his companion Taia take a leisurely evening stroll, Death appears and begins collecting souls, forcing Ibis to confront the consequences of his magical mistake. The issue also includes a Western mystery story titled "If the Shoe Fits" by Dale Clark, in which Sheriff Kellar investigates the murder of Old Nevada Joe, solving the case through a crucial footprint left in the mud.

IbisTrigger Baine (introduction)

When Richard Baine calls on Ibis for help locating his criminal brother, the magician never expects the situation to spiral into chaos—especially after Trigger Baine seizes the Ibistick and uses its power to shrink Ibis, Princess Taia, and Richard to insect size. Now hunted through a house-turned-labyrinth where ordinary toys and household objects become towering engines of destruction, Ibis must navigate a miniature world of danger while separated from his magical wand. With Trigger Baine and his gang also reduced to tiny proportions and closing in, the stakes have never been stranger—or smaller.

When an old man's discordant piano playing accidentally summons Mr. Discord—a villain born from pure evil magic—the mysterious antagonist sets his sights on dominating the world and reclaiming the beautiful Taia, whom he once knew as the Black Pharaoh of Egypt centuries ago. Ibis must pit his magical Ibistick against Mr. Discord's newfound powers of destruction in a battle where good magic clashes with evil, all while the villain's obsession with Taia threatens to tear them apart. This 1943 tale from *Ibis* #2 weaves ancient history, supernatural conflict, and operatic spectacle into a rousing struggle between opposing magical forces.
