In "Ørkenhete," a stranded Bruce Banner finds himself in a desolate desert with Rick Jones, only to be thrust into a bizarre transformation that leaves them both as Hulks—Bruce now a grey, sharp-tongued version of the Hulk, Rick a more primal force. As the two clash in the scorching heat, a new threat emerges when SHIELD fuses Thunderbolt Ross with the alien Zzzax, setting the stage for a brutal confrontation with the Hulk.
