Howling Commandos of S.H.I.E.L.D. #3

Marvel's monster-soldier mashup charges into its third issue with a cover that puts the whole ragtag squad on full display — a battle-worn, heavily armored bruiser crouches front and center, pistol in hand, while a werewolf in S.H.I.E.L.D. gear snarls from the right flank and two more armed operatives hold the steps of what looks like an Egyptian-themed building flanked by sphinx statues. Brent Schoonover's linework gives the scene a pulpy, action-serial energy that suits a team this wonderfully strange perfectly. Barbiere, Schoonover, and Filardi are clearly having a great time with this premise, and issue #3 looks like no exception.
