Steve Gerber and Phil Winslade's MAX-label run on Howard the Duck reaches its sixth issue with a cover by Glenn Fabry that earns every bit of that Parental Advisory label — a wide-eyed, anxious anthropomorphic mouse stands trapped between two hulking, grinning demons against a hellish orange backdrop, their clawed hands and spiked weapons making the little rodent's unease entirely understandable. It's a darkly comic image that captures the off-kilter, anything-goes energy Gerber has long brought to Marvel's strangest corners. Fans of mature-readers storytelling with a sardonic sense of humor will find plenty to appreciate here.
