“They Shoot Ducks, Don't They?”

Part two of four in Marvel's 2008 limited series finds Howard in a genuinely unsettling situation — at least judging by this cover, where a grotesque, grinning creature bristling with cybernetic implants looms at a bank of surveillance monitors, while the massive, hawk-like face of what appears to be a larger antagonist looms ominously in the background. The pink-tinted screens surrounding the central villain suggest someone — or something — is being very closely watched. Juan Bobillo's pencils and inks give the whole scene a wonderfully creepy, almost noir-ish texture that feels perfectly suited to a story titled "They Shoot Ducks, Don't They?
