House of Mystery #223
☆ Be the first to review + Add to your collection — Join freeThe tagline "Do You Dare Enter… The House of Mystery?" sets the mood perfectly for this March 1974 DC anthology, where Luis Dominguez's cover art depicts two terrified young people — a boy and a blonde girl — clinging to a dock as a massive, dripping green sea creature looms out of the churning water behind them, a tiny sailboat tossed in the chaos below. The creature's sheer scale and the crimson sky make this one of the more viscerally unsettling covers of DC's early-'70s horror anthology run. Inside, Len Wein and E. R. Cruz bring the chills with "Demon from the Deep!" — a title that needs no further explanation.
