House of M #2

Aug 2005 · Marvel · 2.99 USD; 4.25 CAD

In a world where Magneto holds absolute power and mutants are the dominant species, Wolverine awakens to a reality that feels wrong—his memories of the past are the only ones that don’t fit. As he struggles to make sense of a life he doesn’t recognize, his SHIELD colleagues grow uneasy watching him react to a New York City guarded by Sentinels. Written by Brian Michael Bendis and illustrated by Olivier Coipel, with inks by Tim Townsend, colors by Frank D'Armata, and letters by Chris Eliopoulos, this issue unfolds in a chilling alternate reality where familiar heroes live vastly different lives. The cover, by Esad Ribić, captures the tension of a world turned upside down.

Magneto rules the world and mutants are the norm. Steve Rogers is an old man, never having been frozen in ice. Scott and Emma are a happy couple. Alison is a talk show host and Simon is a movie star. Ms. Marvel fights crime and Bishop is a NYPD cop. Kitty is a school teacher. Stephen Strange is a psychiatrist. Colossus is a farmer. Hank (the mutant) and Hank (the human) work for Tony Stark. Wolverine wakes up and freaks out because he is the only one who remembers the "real" world. His fellow agents of SHIELD are concerned as Logan races outside and finds Sentinels protecting New York.
