This anthology issue features "The Horrible Trade," in which a man named John Lewis returns to an African safari camp with a bagged lion, but his friend Kenneth King—revealed to be a coward—had actually caught the beast. When supernatural cats mysteriously appear at a temple, Dick and Mary seek shelter indoors, only to discover the felines are not ordinary animals but shape-shifting wolves that transform into human form and hunt the couple through the night. The wolves pursue the pair relentlessly, ultimately attacking them as midnight chimes sound, with the creatures seeking to kill and possess the terrified humans.
