# Hopalong Cassidy #23 This issue contains two stories. "Hayride Horror" features Hopalong Cassidy dealing with tired horse-drawn boulders and various rural mishaps involving work and exhaustion. "Sloppy the Pig in a Class by Himself" tells of a boy named Sloppy who befriends a pig and must care for it; when thieves pursue them in a car with balloons, Sloppy and his pig companion Willie use the balloons to escape, leading to a desert confrontation where the thieves attempt to capture them by tying them to a cactus with rope.
