Hitman #45

Few comics can say their cover features two gun-toting guys blazing away at a pair of winged, red-eyed reptilian creatures while clinging to a hang glider high above a moonlit city — but Hitman #45 pulls it off with gleeful confidence. John McCrea's self-inked cover crackles with kinetic energy, the two figures firing pistols as the snarling creatures swoop in from either side against a deep blue night sky. Garth Ennis's "Fresh Meat Part 2" promises the kind of wild, darkly comedic mayhem that made this 2000 DC series such a distinctive corner of the DC universe.
