There's an irresistible sense of adventure to this March 1948 Quality Comics cover, as Kid Eternity — grinning confidently in his white turtleneck and red sash — perches on the hood of a speeding car alongside a towering, blue-toned robed figure, exhaust billowing behind them. The cover headline promises "Kid Eternity Enters the Forgotten World!", and Pete Riss's artwork delivers an image that's equal parts mysterious and fun. A great snapshot of late Golden Age storytelling at its most imaginative.
