Razorwark drains Hilo's augmented energy into himself, then sacrifices himself by raining it down onto the robot army, giving them life and emotions. Polly takes the robots into her own thinly-settled dimension, where they will be able to live their own lives and build their own society. D.J. discovers that with his robotic energy drained, Hilo has become human.
