Dynamite Entertainment's Highlander #12 wraps up its 2007 run with a brooding, atmospheric cover by Michael Avon Oeming — a long-haired warrior stands bloodied katana in hand, surrounded by scattered skulls at his feet while a mass of glowing-eyed, shadowy figures looms ominously in the darkness behind him. The tension between the solitary figure and that lurking horde gives the image a genuinely haunting weight. It's a fittingly grim capstone to the series, rendered with Oeming's confident, moody linework.
