Day of the Cyborg!" sets the tone for this May 1986 DC series, and Mark Texeira and Pablo Marcos deliver a cover that earns the subtitle — a wild-eyed, red-haired cyborg figure in a skeletal white-and-purple suit lunges forward, mechanical tentacles and claw-arms writhing around him against a blazing industrial backdrop. The tagline "Nothing stops an Electric Warrior!" promises the kind of hard-edged, futuristic action that defined this sci-fi western hybrid. With Fleisher scripting and Texeira's kinetic linework throughout the interior, issue #9 is a vivid snapshot of one of DC's most distinctive mid-eighties experiments.
