Heroes for Hire #12
The double-sized anniversary issue of Heroes for Hire arrives in June 1998 with a cover carrying real dramatic weight — the bold title "BETRAYAL" dominates the left side while four heroes surge across a blazing warm backdrop, including a heavily armored figure, a green-costumed fighter, a winged character, and a chain-wielding hero front and center. Writer John Ostrander teams with artists Pascual Ferry and Jaime Mendoza for what the cover promises is a milestone story titled "Rising Evil," and with a lineup this charged and a word like "betrayal" splashed this large, the tension practically leaps off the page.
