Herc #8
Part of Marvel's 2011 Spider-Island crossover event, this issue of Herc finds the legendary hero in a striking new look — a gold-and-green Spider-Man-styled suit — as he squares off barehanded against a swarm of massive, snarling reptilian creatures, skulls scattered across the dark terrain behind him. The cover pencils by Carlo Pagulayan (inked by Danny Miki) capture Herc's raw, mythic physicality perfectly, his bearish frame straining against multiple attackers at once. With Greg Pak and Fred Van Lente on writing duties and art by June Brigman, this second chapter of "Spider-Story" promises a wild collision of Greek heroism and Manhattan chaos.
