Herc #6.1
Marvel's ".1" initiative brought accessible jumping-on points to its titles in 2011, and Herc #6.1 makes a strong case for diving in. The cover, penciled by Carlo Pagulayan and inked by Jason Paz, puts Hercules front and center in his classical red-and-gold regalia — winged sandals, lion-pelt helmet, and golden weapon raised — charging through a city street toward a green-clad, leopard-masked archer who stands ready for a fight while two civilians scramble to safety behind him. Writers Greg Pak and Fred Van Lente, with interior art by Mike Grell, promise a story ("The Mysteries") that blends mythological grandeur with street-level urgency.
