The second chapter of this five-issue Marvel limited series brings together a striking ensemble of Marvel's heroines — She-Hulk looms large in the foreground, while Ms. Marvel, Storm, Valkyrie, and a red-haired woman radiating blinding energy at her core are swept up in a swirling, luminous composition alongside X-23 and Monica Rambeau. Jelena Djurdjevic's cover art bathes the whole scene in an ethereal white light that gives the gathering an urgent, almost desperate energy — figures reaching, recoiling, and crying out in a beautifully rendered moment of chaos. With Kathryn Immonen writing and Tonči Zonjić on interior art, Heralds #2 is a compelling entry in one of 2010's more ambitious all-female team stories.
