Snow swirls around a vast cityscape as a glasses-wearing figure grips a rifle and rides an enormous insectoid creature — all segmented thorax, compound eyes, and splayed legs — soaring between towering alien structures in this striking second issue of Image's Hellcop. Brian Haberlin's cover work, colored by Geirrod Van Dyke, gives the scene a cold, vertiginous atmosphere that blends science fiction and the otherworldly into something genuinely arresting. If this image is any measure, Hellcop is shaping up to be one of 2021's more imaginative ongoing series.
