Hellboy: The Wild Hunt #8

The finale of The Wild Hunt arrives with this eighth and final issue, and Mike Mignola's cover sets an appropriately grim, mythic tone: a spectral armored king on horseback looms out of a dark, smoky background, lance in hand, while a battered, stone-green Hellboy — eyes burning amber — stands in the foreground, looking worn but unbroken. It's a striking image of ancient power bearing down on one stubborn supernatural figure, rendered with Mignola's characteristically bold, shadowy linework. Duncan Fegredo handles the interior art alongside Mignola's cover, with Dave Stewart's muted, atmospheric colors pulling the whole story arc toward a fittingly haunting close.
