Part three of five in Vertigo's Hellblazer Presents: Chas — The Knowledge puts John Constantine's old friend squarely in the spotlight, and Glenn Fabry's painted cover sets an unsettling tone. A leering, green-lit figure dominates the foreground while Chas himself moves warily through a cemetery, stone crosses looming behind him in cold blue shadow. Simon Oliver and Goran Sudžuka's mature-readers series was one of 2008's more quietly compelling Vertigo offerings, giving the everyman cabbie a world of supernatural dread all his own.
