Hellblazer Special: Chas #2

Part two of five in Vertigo's 2008 spin-off series finds John Constantine's loyal cabbie Chas front and center — and the cover by Glenn Fabry makes clear he's caught between two very different worlds. On one side, Chas lounges in sunglasses with a tropical cocktail in hand, looking deceptively at ease; on the other, a figure recoils in alarm amid a swirling supernatural storm of grotesque, decaying demonic faces looming from the smoke above. Simon Oliver's script and Goran Sudžuka's interior art promise the same unsettling tension Fabry captures here — ordinary bloke, extraordinary and thoroughly unpleasant trouble.
