Glenn Fabry's cover for this July 1994 DC/Vertigo issue places John Constantine at its eerie center — wide-eyed and tense, his bloodied hands cradling a strange, glowing light while flames rage behind him and an oversized pair of scissors looms ominously to his left. It's a quietly unsettling image that captures the mood of Garth Ennis and Steve Dillon's "Rake At The Gates Of Hell Part Two" perfectly — something luminous and something dangerous, and Constantine caught uncomfortably between them. A compelling snapshot of Vertigo at its mid-nineties finest.
