Hellblazer #21

The eighth chapter of Hellblazer's "The Fear Machine" saga arrives with a cover by Dave McKean that is unsettling in the best possible way — a dreamlike tangle of serpents, shed snakeskin, and contorted figures dissolving into shadow, with a skull looming ominously in the upper corner. It's the kind of painterly, atmospheric image that made 1989 Hellblazer genuinely unlike anything else on the stands. Jamie Delano, Mark Buckingham, and Alfredo Alcala carry the interior work on a story whose title alone — "The God of All Gods" — promises something vast and deeply strange.
