Hedy De Vine Comics #22

Traffic has never looked this good — on the cover of Hedy De Vine Comics #22 (1947), the glamorous blonde Hedy strikes a confident, hands-on-hips pose in a red dress and long black gloves, bringing an entire intersection of honking, beeping automobiles to a standstill. A flustered traffic cop on his pedestal blows his whistle to no apparent effect, utterly upstaged by her presence. Cover pencils by Ed Winiarski and inks by Christopher Rule make this ten-cent slice of 1947 humor comics genuinely hard to put down.
