Hawkeye #2
The second chapter of this 1994 limited series finds a battle-worn Hawkeye standing arms-crossed and confident alongside Rover — described right on the cover as a genetic construct — a snarling, wolf-like creature crouched at his side, with shattered arrows scattered at their feet and giant paw prints looming across the white background. Cover pencils by Scott Kolins give the duo a striking, no-nonsense presence that makes their partnership feel both unlikely and completely convincing. With the "Masters of the Game" tagline promising a clash against a secret empire, this Chuck Dixon–written series is shaping up to be one of the more entertaining solo outings for Marvel's ace archer.
