Clint Barton is back on his own terms with this opening chapter of his long-awaited limited series, and the cover by Scott Kolins and Tim Dzon sets the mood perfectly: Hawkeye stands bow drawn and arrow nocked in full purple-and-blue costume, while a large, ghostly face with silver-white hair looms behind him — whoever that figure is, the tagline "Same Bad Attitude, Brand-New Grudge" makes clear there's serious unfinished business ahead. The stark black backdrop and that cool, piercing gaze make this 1994 opener feel like a thriller as much as a superhero adventure.
