Hawkeye #1
The opening issue of Matt Fraction, David Aja, and Matt Hollingsworth's Hawkeye announces itself with striking confidence — Clint Barton perches atop a rooftop structure, bow drawn and arrow at full tension against a spare, high-contrast cityscape, while bold purple-and-white target rings scatter across the composition like a visual signature. Aja's cover design is clean and purposeful, stripping the Avenger down to his essentials: a guy, a bow, and an impossible amount of rooftop cool. If 2012 had a comics cover that captured a street-level hero at his most focused, this is a very strong contender.
