Hawk and Dove #2

Part two of five in the 1997 DC miniseries, this issue of Hawk and Dove drops its heroes into a desperate situation right from the cover — two costumed figures are trapped inside a suspended cage while a flock of savage, winged raptors closes in around them, with a mysterious suited figure watching coolly from below. The tagline "Prey for the Raptors!" says it all, and the fiery orange sky behind the chaos gives the whole scene an urgent, suffocating tension. Cover art by Dean Zachary and Dick Giordano, with the interior story "Flight into Madness" crafted by the same creative team alongside colorist Roberta Tewes.
