Hauteville House #10
Against a smoldering, sulfur-yellow industrial skyline, a massive spider-legged war machine dominates the cover of this 2014 Delcourt entry in the Hauteville House series — its armored bulk towering over factory smokestacks while a dirigible drifts in the haze behind it. A line of silhouetted soldiers fans out across the foreground, dwarfed by the mechanical colossus bearing an eagle emblem on its hull, all rendered in striking chiaroscuro by cover artist Manchu. It's a vivid, atmospheric image that sets a wonderfully tense steampunk-military tone for "Jack Tupper," crafted by the team of Fred Duval, Christophe Quet, Thierry Gioux, and Carole Beau.
