“A Child's Voice”

Charlton's long-running horror anthology returns with issue #53, subtitled "Baron Weirwulf's Haunted Library — A Doctor Graves Issue," and Pat Boyette's cover sets an effectively creepy tone: a bandaged mummy lurches forward with clawed hands outstretched while a man holding a flaming torch shouts "Get back — back to the tomb where you were interred!" in a shadowy underground passage. Teased story title "The Last Ship to the Sun!" adds another layer of eerie intrigue alongside the included tale "A Child's Voice," written and illustrated by Pete Morisi. A solid 1981 package for fans of Charlton's distinctive brand of supernatural storytelling.
