Haunted #36

Charlton's Baron Weirwulf's Haunted Library hits a genuinely eerie note with issue #36 (1978), featuring a Tom Sutton cover that plants a winged, bat-horned demon front and center against a blazing red sky and a full yellow moon — with a pair of grasping skeletal hands reaching in from the shadows at the right. Inside, the creative team of writer Joe Gill and artist/inker Steve Ditko brings you "An Unfriendly Town," a title that promises exactly the kind of unsettling hospitality this anthology series does so well. If you have a taste for atmospheric horror comics from the late Bronze Age, this one's hard to pass up.
