Haunted #29

Charlton's Baron Weirwulf's Haunted Library delivers another round of supernatural dread with issue #29, and the cover — penciled by Rich Larson and inked by Tim Boxell — sets an immediately unsettling tone: a man in a suit backs away in terror on a rain-slicked urban street as a decomposing, shambling figure advances on him, while more rotting forms lurk in the foreground shadows. The atmosphere is pure 1976 horror-anthology energy, with that eerie streetlamp glow and crumbling building facade doing as much work as the monsters themselves. Inside, writer and artist Frank Bolle bring Nicola Cuti's story "The Last Will and Testament" to life, promising the kind of creepy, twist-laden tale Charlton fans had come to expect from this series.
