Haunt of Fear #22
"Wish You Were Here" delivers a chilling twist on the classic wish-fulfillment trope in Haunt of Fear #22, a 1953 EC horror classic. Written by William Gaines and Al Feldstein, with haunting artwork by Graham Ingels and color by Marie Severin, the story follows a grieving wife who, after losing her husband Jason in a tragic accident, turns to a mysterious jade statue to bring him back—only to discover that some wishes come with a terrible price. The cover, also by Graham Ingels, perfectly captures the story’s eerie, foreboding tone.
