Tyler Crook's unsettling cover for issue #29 of Cullen Bunn and Crook's Southern Gothic series fills the entire frame with a massive, bloodshot eye staring out from beneath dark, root-like tendrils and mossy earth — intimate yet deeply strange. The deep blue iris and broken, irritated sclera rendered in Crook's expressive watercolor style give the image a rawness that's hard to look away from.
