Tyler Crook's cover for issue #23 of Cullen Bunn and Crook's southern gothic series delivers an immediate jolt of dread: a wooden coffin splits open in a dark, smoke-hazed space as a mass of dark, amber-eyed serpents pours out in every direction, one rearing back with fangs bared. Newsarama called Harrow County "so literary in its execution" it changed their mind about what comics could be — and this 2017 installment, "The Possum Lady," looks set to keep that reputation intact.
