"Francois Feline" follows a cat who leaves home in winter, planning to return in time for supper, only to encounter various mishaps including a confrontation with a troll and a car that gets him in trouble with the law. The issue also includes a story involving a mayor presenting keys to the city and a "Distinguished Citizens' Award," with comedic chaos ensuing from the presentation of an enormous stack of comic books.
When a new comic book called "Coo Coo Comics" becomes the talk of the town, a skeptical chairman of the Better Business Bureau investigates to make sure it's legitimate—only to discover the book features a character called Supermouse performing increasingly outlandish feats. As the irate official demands answers from the cartoonist behind this "horrible monstrosity," the artist's casual response about what he considers perfectly normal might just turn the whole investigation on its head.
Climbin' Simon, the talkative mountain guide, plays a prank on a visitor looking for a way up Sharktooth Peak—giving false directions that send the hapless climber in circles—but then agrees to lead the way himself, decked out in bright red woolies that keep him toasty warm. As Simon escorts the increasingly nervous city dweller up the mountainside with plenty of jokes and yodeling, the trek becomes a comedy of near-disasters and anxiety, with the visitor trying his best to stay alive.
