Ha Ha Comics #28 is an anthology containing multiple humor stories. One story features a disobedient young man being disciplined by an authority figure through physical punishment involving logs and rocks. Another story depicts Lemuel and Clem, two characters who receive a call about a monster at South Shore Lake and attempt to protect their wives and eggs, only to have their efforts comically backfire with a parade of creatures. A third story shows a small dog in a striped nightgown repeatedly knocking on and kicking larger animals, resulting in retaliatory violence and the dog threatening to knock out the victim's teeth.

A Bear Living

A bear prepares his den for a long winter hibernation, taking every precaution to ensure nothing disturbs his sleep—but when he finally settles in, he can't doze off. After counting sheep, taking sleep pills, and wrestling with a nightmare about a scrappy little dog, he finds himself in hot water with the law. By the time the dust settles, our furry friend might just get the enforced rest he was after all along.

A scarecrow gets a fancy new outfit and an invitation to the masquerade ball at the old barn, courtesy of his pals—but when the unmasking hour arrives, his fellow revelers get quite the shock discovering their dapper dance partner is exactly what he claims to be. What follows is a chaotic night that leaves our straw-stuffed friend thoroughly scattered, though he's game to do it all over again.
