Ha Ha Comics #12 is an anthology humor comic featuring multiple stories. "Zip Zebra," by George Pell, follows a zebra who is ordered to leave town by Police Chief Cal Collie due to his striped appearance making police work difficult; after encountering bank robbers in a shack, Zip's quick thinking with their gun prevents the robbery and he is rewarded with an honorary police badge. Another story features a deceitful octogenarian character and romantic entanglements told through comic panels with punchline humor. "Lumps in the Land of the Wootsies" presents an illustrated guide to a fictional fantastical location, with a cat character explaining the whimsical inhabitants and geography of this imaginary realm.

In a whimsical twist, a young woman discovers a mysterious book that promises a journey to the bizarre Land of the Wootsies, where everything is backwards and the townsfolk behave in delightfully odd ways. After reciting the magic phrase and stepping through a closet, she finds herself in a topsy-turvy town where greetings are insults, celebrations are disasters, and normal rules don’t apply.
