This Gwandanaland Comics collection reprints Modern Comics #44–65, gathering a terrific run of Golden Age Blackhawk adventures in one handsome volume. Al Bryant's cover art — reproduced from Modern Comics #54 — puts Blackhawk front and center in his signature blue uniform and hawk emblem, confidently restraining two captured figures while his squadmates and the colorful Chop-Chop look on, with warplanes visible in the background and the cover blurb promising he "ties up the Man Who Pulled the Strings." It's a wonderful snapshot of the spirited, globe-trotting action that defined the Blackhawk series during this era.
