Gwandanaland Comics #397-A
In "The Cadmus Seed!", Jack Kirby’s visionary storytelling takes Drake on a startling journey to 2514 AD, where he discovers a world eerily silent except for the echoes of dead tigers and a rat who claims humanity’s extinction was sealed by atomic war. As animals now rule the earth, Drake is captured by a mysterious lair where he’s pressed to reveal the secret of atomic bombs—only to wake in a strange sanctuary, surrounded by a dog, fox, and bear, as a General reveals a deeper divide: peace is the new order, but not all creatures agree. Kirby’s dynamic art and Howard Ferguson’s bold lettering bring this surreal, thought-provoking tale to life, with cover pencils by Kirby and inks by Joe Simon adding a striking, vintage flair.
