Part of Marvel's 2008 Secret Invasion crossover, this issue pulls the Guardians of the Galaxy into the shape-shifting chaos of the Skrull threat. Clint Langley's cover is striking — a blue-skinned figure clutching Captain America's shield charges forward against a fiery backdrop, while a helmeted warrior in black armor rushes in from the side, and an enormous, looming Skrull face dominates the shadows behind them. With Dan Abnett, Andy Lanning, Paul Pelletier, and Rick Magyar steering the series, this is cosmic-scale conflict at its most tense and atmospheric.
