The 31st century's finest defenders face overwhelming odds in this September 1990 installment of Marvel's cosmic team book, with the cover — penciled by Jim Valentino and inked by Scott Williams — plunging readers straight into "All-Out War in the Marvel Universe of the 31st Century!" Firelord blazes across the top of the image, twin flaming staffs raised and wreathed in fire, while below him a muscular Guardian and a blonde female teammate brace against a surging horde of purple alien enemies alongside a gold-armored, red-masked foe.
