Dan Abnett continues his 2023 run on Marvel's lovable living tree with this striking third issue, featuring a cover by Lee Garbett that's as inventive as it is unsettling — Groot's massive, impassive face fills the frame while two figures, a green-masked hero in white and a blue-skinned alien woman, are ensnared and lifted by his own branching tendrils erupting from the top of his head. It's a beautifully composed image that plays with scale and menace in equal measure, hinting at a Groot whose quiet exterior conceals something far more complex.
