Groo Meets Tarzan #1
☆ Be the first to review + Add to your collection — Join freeWhat a delightful collision of two worlds — this 2021 Dark Horse opener brings together Sergio Aragonés' bumbling swordsman Groo and Edgar Rice Burroughs' jungle lord Tarzan in a pairing that's as unexpected as it is irresistible. The cover by Aragonés and Yeates captures the contrast perfectly: a powerfully rendered Tarzan crouches in the lush jungle canopy gripping a knife, while a wide-eyed Groo stands below in his distinctive yellow tunic, blades in hand, accompanied by his spotted dog Rufferto — all watched by pairs of mysterious eyes lurking in the undergrowth. With Aragonés and Evanier on story duties and Yeates bringing a classically adventurous line to Tarzan's world, this first chapter promises a genuinely charming culture clash between two very different survivors of the wild.

Sergio Aragonés and Mark Evanier make their way through "the 2021 Comic-Con that never happened". That night Sergio dreams of following in the footsteps of the many great artists who have drawn Tarzan over the years. Then, in three seemingly unrelated segments, Tarzan seeks the "huge dark ship" of a band of slave traders - leading to the land of Pal-ul-don (a land forgotten by time), Groo seeks "the best cheese dip in the world", and Mark seeks an end to a day out with Sergio at a run-down California safari park.
